Former rapper and songwriter, Joseph Anthony Budden II is known for his amazing podcast and his relationship with “Love & Hip Hop” star Cyn Santana. Last year was a good year for him. His podcast took off, he returned to “Love & Hip Hop New York” and welcomed his second child into the world.
His two children are born more than a decade apart. Joe’s older son, Trey is already 16. He has been caught in the middle of a bitter feud between Joe and his mom due to their legal battle over Joe’s visitation. As a result, Trey grew up without seeing much of his father but things are looking up for father and son now.
Joe and his ex are in a better place. Joe and Trey finally have a chance to get to know each other and make up for lost time. He sees his father every other weekend. This means he is now playing a big roll in his baby brother, Lexington’s life.
In a 2016 interview, Budden revealed his feelings about not being in his son’s life when he was growing up saying, “I was an absentee father for so long, so now, for me to be so heavily involved in my kid’s life and just talking to him, seeing things through his eyes, his friends, that whole world, it’s changed everything. I no longer communicate the same way that I used to. Like, we need the elder statesmen to kind of be the elder statesmen."
Joe and Santana welcomed Lexington in December last year. The couple revealed that the pregnancy was a shock. They had only been together since Summer 2017 and they revealed that Santana was pregnant in August 2018.
During her pregnancy Cyn had been bombarded with body shamers. She eventually spoke out against them and posted a brilliant message for all pregnant mothers.
In a brilliant post, she wrote, "What about those who don’t have thick skin? Those that are easily affected by outside commentators? Just the thought of it alone makes me cringe and breaks my heart. Unfortunately, cruel people exist in this world. There’s nothing that we can do about them. So we need to protect ourselves and lift each other up. So this goes out to ALL my women. Pregnant or not. Big nose or small nose. Embrace it. Embrace you. You are beautiful. Please don’t pay attention to fake pages with 3 posts and 127 followers. It really isn’t about you. It’s about them. They’re facing daily struggles and this is how they cope. By coming on social media and tearing others down. Don’t take them too personal"
